Spyral translated the whole game, but with literal translation. I only re-translated for the more authentic looks.

Also the online mode's ranks was not translated, I translated these too.

It is complete with the exception of the formating. There isn't enough space to make it look better. I'm just a hacker, I can't extend the .exe. XD

There is a tool, called mech extender. It was on Amecha a long ago, maybe they still have it. It was used on the Ex vs. mod too.

Oh, you mean more than 50. The mech extender's readme says, 50 is the limit. To extend even more it requires a more brutal hack. I think it is possible. But without the source code of the binary it is very hard even for the most professional hackers.

umm yeah XC could be really good add more thant 50 mechas so I have now 500 mechas is hard dont have a good balance betwen each 50 mechas

Analyze the mech extender tool, analyze the changes the tool made in the .exe, and try to extend it with the same idea. This is the way, but it just sound this easy, it is hard to do it.

If you play just for fun the balance isn't that important. You can always beat some bots just to pilot your favorite mod a little. Smile

there is a mech extender that goes beyond 50 mechs. its made by lightningdragon and its over at amecha. it doesn't support maps though and i heard its buggy.
the extender is capable of 999+ mechs.

Maybe the load of maps works the very same way as the mech's. I mean it can be extended with the very same method just at a different string.

I don't know if this was accidental or intentional but the maps always help out the melee or close range mechs with less boost. Even if they run out of boost they are protected by the obstacles. The long range units however must hower higher to target clearly and gain advantages.

Ask a programmer. Maybe someone can analyze the structure of the .exe and can do something with the limitations.

It would be more confortable to build our own game. For example an Unreal Engine made game will not have limits. Unreal Engine 2.5 would be enough for this.

I see a prototype game of zoids on unity and is amazing I dont know if ukwxp or sv could be adapted to this enigne u know try to make a enigne with the skill of read the scripts of xp and sv well I dont know if could be possible

It is possible to read these things. There are the tools made by the modders, that can read the files. But if the game move to an another engine it will be no problem if we recreate the mods for that. Maybe it work better this way.

If i may ask, How to change the version of this single installer that was patched in 2.008 and will downgrade to 2.004?


And..

How to unlock all the 24 units for freshly installed units? Coz by default installation, there are only 5 or 6 units available...
I've tried playing the modded compilation for 2.008 and ran 1-full arcade then after finishing that run, ukwxp game units were unlocked..
I'm just asking if there is a shorter way other than playing a modded compilation..

I don't know if there is a downgrade patch available, sorry. I've made this installer back when the game was a popular game for online play. Version 2.004 generates extensive lag because of a critical system bug in the engine (it was fixed in 2.005, see the changelog for details).

To unlock the units you have to simply beat the arcade mode. Every unit unlock an another. Vienna and Primula requires more than one unit to unlock. I guess some mods hacked the .exe and changed the unlock pattern.

The Wikipedia have the unlock chart for all units: Wikipedia

I found something while searching thru internet.. the progress of the play saves in specific location like some other game (e.g. Call of duty)

but for this game, it saves all the progress at C:\Users\Account Name(E.g. Admin)\AppData\Local or same format as a like [applicable for window7].. the good thing, even the hardest item you obtained from hard work and long hours of playing can also also be saved and transferred if in case you want to install the game to other pc unit..
I've tried doing the steps and copied the file of the progress I made to another pc and it worked.. It Works!

Another thing I observed when I did the shortcut (using modded compilation to unlock all units instantly), then i open the UKWXP..

during LAN game (UKWXP not modded), 24 units (0-23) are present then when I select unit upwards there are 26 blanks before the 24th unit to appear because when you click unit downwards,, unit will be shown from 0 going to 1 going to 2 and so on.. that means there 50 units that can be selected only in LAN game..

You told me that you extract or somehow see the contents of the executable file of game.. may be you can find something that can help you in restructuring the from 24 unit-limit to 50 unit-limit of the original game..
You can also check the progress I've mentioned earlier.. It is a WSD file(UKWXP progress file).. I've tried to open that file by notepad++ but nothing can be read.. I've also used encryptor/decryptor then read it again on notepad++ but i end up failed..

It is a portable executable, even simple programs like 7Zip can extract it. I doesn't understand a single thing from the server's .exe (that one was translated by Spiral), but maybe it is similar to the WindomXP.exe. That load the units one after another as "data", sorry I don't know better word, but I try to explain it.

The engine on startup load all the places that was taken by something. Basically it index them, and then load the actual models only when it is required to display it. Usually games with high requirement use this method.

The server maybe do the same. Indexing the files for checking the sync latter. No matter how much I look it, I doesn't get how it works. Maybe that is the problem I don't know how to extend the file size for the exe. If you change the file's size then the positions of the indexes will change. Would be much more easier with the source code. I'm not a programer or a hacker.
