Original Maps HD [suggestion] Empty Original Maps HD [suggestion]

A few days ago I had the idea of getting change the textures of the original maps with new textures similar but in high definition
I don't know if it will be a good idea to change the buildings and add grass

What do you think?

It will increase the game's system requirements too. Also if you add grass (because of the engine's object shader) the engine will generate shadow for all of them independently.

But if anyone have a strong PC, it could be looks cool!  I Like!

yeah I think goin to do a some type of update
original maps, original style, but modernized
if I just change the textures the requirements don't will be high
but if I change the buildings and add grass
possibly increases some more

I think just the textures not increase the requirements too much. Of course it will increase the load time of the maps in-game. If anyone noticed, the game not repload all of the objects before the start of the mach. Sometimes the game slow down for one or two seconds during gameplay. This is because the engine load additional objects (like new mechs or more map elements).  Stunned 

I will be curious how this would work during online play. I hope it not generates lag. Smile

With the proper program, you can convert the base textures. I don't know which program is capable to this.

recently I was playing "the forest" and note that some textures can be seen real as a model 3d of grass
It is a curious effect

With the proper work, the textures can be looks as 3D models. Some shader, and shadows, and perfect.

okay now I am working with the map city I get some textures with this effect I dont have idea if will be a epic win or a epic fail
by now I have problems with the textures "*.dds" maybe is better use a "*.png"

I always use PNG, it is the second best, and loseless format after the BMP. The PNG also supports animations and transparency. Quite useful format. Very Happy

Sorry, I never was able to do this kind if programming. But there are a transcoder which works on the robots. Maybe it works on the maps too.

DE can open it. then convert it to png with DE. Now u got what u want.

If it is a picture formet, maybe GIMP can open. I used that freeware program for all of my picture editing.

DE can open it. then convert it to png with DE. Now u got what u want.

I try to installing a plug-in for gimp manages to open these formats
but unfortunately don't work with the texture of city map

The texture looks really amazing I Like! You might want to add more details to it thou, such as more trees, maybe make it like some park at the sides to show how the battle can take place at random places

It is nice and strange at the same time. All of the textures are crystal clear. I not really use mech modes in my game, but I always add new maps. This will be definitely added to my game. Smile
