this guy is doing an incredible job with a prototype game of Zoids
check it !

This really brings back good memories bout see again the Zoids of my childhood with an innovative touch of technologies.

Lol, that was a superb game. I played it when the emulator lagged like the hell. I look forward to this project. Maybe it can run on my PC too. Very Happy

But there are another similar project, but it is a little older. This is based on Armored Core, and called Armed Core. Very lightweight prototype but you can customize your mech, can battle against different kind of AI or play online. Also like the Windom XP it has destructible buildings.

It was made with Unity. Anyone who can edit the Unity assembled files is easily can mod this game. Not harder than the Unreal Engine since it isn't enscripted like the UKWXP.

If I remember right, all of the Unity Engine tools is free. Of course you still need a 3D object editor program, but what you use for UKWXP is good enough here too. Smile

As far as I know it was compiled with Visual C++, and it also requires the 2005 or 2008 package to run. I used Resource Tuner to translate the .exe.

I wan unable to edit most of the in-game text because that was compiled into the .exe too. I used an already edited file to copy the contents and edit what I can edit.

Everything is editable. The folders contains the graphics for the game, and the .exe contains the text. Even it is possible to add plus files to the game, just must edit the .exe to load those files too.

It looks cool. I like the non-humanoid mechs. There was something like DICE or similar anime. That had a mech dragon. That was epic too. Very Happy

About the UKWXP... sadly yes. The whole game is encrypted with the exception of the .exe. Adding a file to the load index of the .exe isn't that hard, but you must encrypt your new file with the same method as the core files. That is a harder thing.

Then try out the Zone of Enders: Idolo movie. It isn't too long neither perfect, but at least isn't that depressive like the Gundam. XD

A site based around the Wine says it can run good on Linux. One time I seen the old Bootfighter running on Wine, so the Ultimate Knight must be too.

The Project Windom board was closed a long before, and the infos was not updated since 08. 2013. I think the developer not visit often the site. As much as I know the development stopped.

One time I tried to contact Y. Kamada to ask about the Windom XP's licence, but never answered it. If it was possible I wanted to buy the licence then release it again for free. But without the answer it goes nowhere.

Lol, nice mod. A little strange but looks cool. Even extended the mech slot's number.

The SV always looked like a Gundam vs Gundam Next Plus to me. A little sluggish compared to the UKWXP. Or at least it looks like that for me.
